CRADLE MOUNTAIN - LAKE ST CLAIR NATIONAL PARK, TASMANIA, AUSTRALIA

Dove Lake is amongst the most serene places I have visited. Early morning warmth lifts a blanket of mist from the chilly expanse of the lake, perfectly still as it reflects Cradle Mountain and the sky above. A series of stepping stones lead enticingly towards the mountains. I have been told that blue sky and sunshine are a rare occurrence in this part of Tasmania, with only thirty such days per year on average. I suppose that seeing the sun on each of my four days here was a blessing.
