| The Mittens and Merrick Butte stand guard resolutely over this tribal land as rain showers herald the rising sun on the distant horizon. A remarkable effect which I have noticed in these vast desert landscapes of red earth is that low clouds often reflect the warm colour of the earth below, right through the day. I have also noticed this in the central Australian desert, where clouds seemed to have a pale red glow most evident around midday. |
